leak in roof

I have a 2018 Cougar 333MKS. The roof was leaking and water got into
the left (driver side) corner of the front closet. Upon inspection a metal strip
next to the front cap attachment had worked loose and raised up from the
roof which made a gap in the caulking. I cleared part of the strip of caulking, screwed the strip back in place and covered with self leveling caulk. However,
in the process of applying the caulk the rubber part of the roof separated
from the front cap (driver side) leaving a hole. There doesn't appear to be
any backing underneath the rubber to support it. I tried to fill the hole with
self leveling caulk but this is a temporary fix at best. What material is
supposed to be underneath the rubber in that corner of the roof. The tear in
the rubber is right at the 90 degree bend where the front cap attaches. How
do I go about repairing this. I checked you tube, it seems there should be some sort of "shoulder" support between the side wall and the roof, but there's
nothing supporting the rubber roof at that spot. Hence a tear. HELP!!!!

A picture speaks a thousand words. Post some pictures of the area with the problem and you will likely get much better tips on how to repair it.

I really don't understand all that you are describing but Eternabond tape does a great job of sealing the torn membrane.
