Sprinter Campfire 29FWRL kitchen slide

Hello, We have a Sprinter Campfire fifth wheel - 29FWRL. We are puzzled by the bottom frame of the kitchen slide. It has an extension that comes about 5 inches out from the cupboards. The slide rollers are under the frame, but they don’t seem to be out to the edge of it. This extra floor frame/lip makes standing at the counter and stove very hard because you have to step onto the frame or else strain to bend over the counter.

Does anyone know why this piece of the frame is so wide, and whether it can be cut back to make it easier to stand closer to the kitchen counter? Thanks very much.

My Alpine has a similar ledge/lip on the kitchen slide. I’m guessing it’s a balance or loading thing. It doesn’t seem to bother us.
