Mornin....We have a 2018 Keystone Cougar Half-Ton 279 RKSWE, 20th Aniversary model. Took 2 trips in it. Loved the newness !
Its around 32', but with bike rack down, a couple feet longer. Its for sale. We want a slightly bigger unit with floating counter and King Bed. Ours is in near new condition, asking $31K / Offer. Paid 34 K, less than 1 year ago. We are looking for a smallish Heartland Bighorn. If interested...PM for contact. Otherwise, I'll give feedback on quality and construction, if interested.

We have a 2019 29BHS while it is a TT it did come with the auto level system. Which also comes with auto hitch height. It works great. The only problem I see is now we could never get a trailer without this system. Oh our Cougar came with a King sized bed.

We had the hydraulic 6 point system put in our Alpine about 5 years ago and it was $5K. If you go electric it is slightly cheaper and can be done with lighter 5th wheels. Check with Lippert themselves to find the best dealer to do the job because not all are authorized and not all do a good job without training. Lippert has been fixing our system for most of those years including this past fall and all was done under their warranty because our initial problem happened within that first year warranty. All related to install, not the system

Where do you think you are measuring from vs. where Cougar measures?

I really like the floorplan of the 315RLS but it definitely needs a 1 ton truck to pull it safely. I see your profile says you already have a 1 ton so you’d be fine.

Hi Shasta Bob. We just upgraded from a Bullet Premiere to a 35.5 foot Cougar 315RLS, and we are so happy with this unit, actually on our maiden voyage as I type. So many great features for a mid-level 5'er, 2 ACs, king bed, large mirrored wardrobe, washer dryer prep, shower seat, 50amp, 300 lb. hitch, large microwave, 12 cubic ft. Refer, island, pantry, more-ryde steps, "in command" system with phone app, leveling system, Key TV, tons of storage, we are so happy with our Cougar, even at the slightly longer length!

Apalinto, I would have added 2 attributes: dinette is looking at your campsite (a big deal with my wife) and the refrig (one door) and freezer is accessible in tow config (slides in). The only potential downsides (depending on your RVing style) is 5.2k lbs rated axles (1650 available cargo). We traded off the cargo for the extra length.

The space between the aft end of the Island and the couch is 1.5 foot greater than the similar floor plan (shorter length-and dinette on neighbor's side) Montana High Country 305RLS, which gives the Rear Living a sense of a room more than the Montana.

I plan to put a more-ryde tray (2x8 ft) in the basement and duplicate the outdoor kitchen that Grand Design provides as our (my) camping happiness is cooking outdoors. There is a propane outlet just below the basement door, and I will tap into both hot and cold water for the sink. Still noodling the grey water drain from the outdoor kitchen sink (bucket or tied into the grey water drain system...??)

Oh yea [I am still in denial]....None of the Cougars have whisper ACs....a really big plus for the Montana's

What are you towing with? I have a 2018 GMC 3500 4dr. short bed single axle.

Very good points DG. Definately miss the outdoor kitchen on our Premier, but I'll get over it, I'm mostly a BBQ guy anyway. My wife also loves the campsite windows. On our salon AC, we closed the downward vent and only use the round ceiling vents, that cut down on the noise signifcantly.

Our hauler is a 2006 Ford F-350 Lariat 6.0 Turbo Diesel that we bought brand new back in the day. B&W Hitch, Firestone Ride-Rite Air Bags. Bullet-proofed. We love our truck!
