Slide floor thickness?

Just removed the trifold sofa from our '21 25RDS and have replaced it with theater recliners. The trifold was attached to the framing of the outer wall. This isn't an option for the recliners. I see holes in the base of the recliner frames suitable for fastening them to the floor. However, I don't want to go thru the slide floor with screws for obvious reasons. Does anyone know the thickness of the slide flooring in a 25RDS?

If I had to guess I would say 1 1/2” thick? I wouldn’t bother screwing them down.

With the slide partially in and the flooring flap flipped up, when I reach in with my fingers it only seems to be about 1/2", guessing it is a fiberglass panel and not plywood, thus my concern for possibly going thru.
Do you really think the double recliner assembly would stay put without fasteners, or are you joking?
How does the factory secure this furniture?

My couch was never secured and it doesn’t move enough to worry about. Makes it easy to deep clean also.

In our Montana High Country the slide floor is 3/8". The screws that held the table in place were sticking out the bottom. I wouldn't bother with the screws either.

I removed the theater seating from our unit and replaced them with two elect recliners. The theater seating was screwed to the floor. I didn’t screw the new recliners down and have had no problem with them moving.

Slide floor repair

I helped my BIL put a new floor in his camp trailer this year if I recall there is no other framework than the exterior aluminum framed walls and the 3/4" osb or plywood that is screwed into the bottom of the walls and sits on the floor inside we did cut a wide bevel on the leading edge before we wrapped it all in dycor? (BLACK TARP LOOKING WRAPPER) we used CDX plywood and scarf joined the 2 pieces with resin, and glass cloth. in the middle to make a 16x4 ft piece if I recall his slide was 12 or 13 feet long.

3/4” does sound better than my original reply.

My 2014 XLite fifth wheel is 5/8" plywood, wrapped in Dicor. The only insulation is the sheet of mylar bubble wrap over the plywood and under the "cheap" carpet. It does get "chilly" sitting with bare feet at the table on cold, winter nights.

Thanks to all that replied. What we have is similar to what John described, although I'm uncertain as to whether it is plywood or a fiberglass composite. None the less, I'm going to take the chance and let it "free range" on the slide floor, not much room for fore and aft travel, only lateral. Should it walk, I figure we have two options, use a bungee cord hooked to each end of the slider inside flange, or drill out the slider floor and use elevator bolts to secure the recliner bases.

Or a third option is a 1/2" plywood cutout (think half a donut) screwed to the floor in front of each of the recliner front legs. The donuts will stop movement in 3 directions (forward, left and right) and the slide wall will stop movement aft.

you could use small nylon hook straps hooked to small d rings in the same location that the sofa was screwed into…similar to the straps for holding the dinning chairs to the floor for travel.

We replaced our tri-fold soft with first a Lazyboy reclining love seat and then the Lazyboy with two individual recliners and none were secured to the floor or have ever moved during transport. We had a booth dinette and replaced with an Ikea table and two chairs. We flip the table over and set the chairs in the table legs and secure with a bungee cord and it has never moved during transport.

Non-Mounted recliners

Hey! Here is a simple not invasive way to restrain them. Just a D-Ring on each side.

That's a good idea, the trifold had been attached to the outboard wall just above the slider floor. We have the bubble mylar material beneath the flooring fabric and I didn't want to penetrate the slider floor if it isn't necessary. My primary concern with leaving the recliners unsecured is that the side of the aft backrest could wipeout the light blocking side valences for the aft window shade of the slider should the furniture shift inboard while in transit.

We replaced our sofa lounger with a Double recliner couch and did not secure it. Travelling for a year with it not secured and it has not moved at all. The only thing securing the original couch was 1 small screw that I dont think was doing much.

I have a 3401RS and my theater seats are not bolted down in my slide out. Now both seats are connected together just not to the slide-out.

2020 25RES. Seats came adrift when I hit a really large bump. It would appear that they were screwed to the floor with 1 1/2" screws on an extreme slant. I did not realize that and rescrewed them and really grooved up the plate underneath. I then used a heavy guage short screw. Screw them down with the slide out and check underneath before you close it.
