It works.....

Right on time the power went out last night as predicted from a good storm.
Most of the island is still out, as I am too.

Lots of branches to clean up today, but nothing huge in my yard or roof, or on top of trailer

I have one inverter generator on right now that I bought from Harbor Freight, this one:

https://www.harborfreight.com/2000-w...ogy-59135.html

I have two and the 30-amp parallel kit, if needed, but one is fine unless I need more power.

I am very happy with them, might even move into the trailer tonight if need be. Get a hot shower

Well got both going now.
Streaming college football games all day.
Looking at postings on FB we got hit pretty good.
Lots of damage and the estimate to restore power in not until Monday or Tuesday, arg.
Too dark now to shift out to the trailer but I will tomorrow use the shower and HOT WATER.
I have enough gas and we have heat and food.
Just boring, I shouldn't complain.
I piled up all the branches and made a bonfire.
Mountains are a mess, snow piling up.

Yeah I went with two because it gives me more options and easier to carry.

I'll hook them up in series tomorrow and run the refrigerator, in the house.

These guys give real clean power, no flicker, etc, and the low load switch really extends the run time, my computer and a few lights is nothing.

Yes we did.

I needed oil for my generators, to change, they have been running constantly except when we sleep. They call for 10-30, I only had 5-20.
I decided to make a run for it as I knew about 10 miles away, I could get some.
However, I never got more than a mile from my home. Trees, power poles, power lines, everywhere, and I mean everywhere.....
Worst I have ever seen in my 20 years living here.
I just used 5-20, its cold out so I think I'm good anyway.

Suppose to be tomorrow we get restored, they are making great progress, lots of folks have power back on, however where I live is more rural and remote, so we always suffer the most in these types of events.

Still running.....

They use about 1.5 gallons per 10-12 hours each.

Power HOPEFULLY late tonight.

We heard branches snapping and hitting out house but was very surprised the next morning to what awaited us.
I haven't heard of any casualties, hopefully everyone escaped all the falling trees and telephone poles.

Going to really prepare for more this winter, I have a hunch it will be a wild one.
