Welcome LED1974 to the forums, and good luck on your upcoming retirement. I retired one year ago and I've had the absolute best time of my life since. It's been an awesome year.
Shortly before I left my job, one of my (younger) collogues asked me, "How do you know if you have enough money to retire?" It took me all of 2 seconds to come back with an answer because I'd been working on it aggressively for the last 10 years of my employment life.
My answer was, "You NEVER have enough! You can always use more! What you have to do is get yourself completely out of debt before you retire so you can live off a lot less without any stress. If you do retire with debt, then you just have to make sure your retirement finances can cover the debt. If you can't pay the debt on your retirement funds, then don't retire yet."
That's my strongest advise to you. I'm 100% debt free! All I have now are the "normal monthly bills, food, and travel, which.... actually ... my Social Security covers very nice. The rest of my funds are just extra gravey!
Reach that level in your financial strategy and you'll have a fantastic retirement also!
Welcome! Happy Camping!
