Tankless Heater

Does anyone have a video they can send to show how to install a new IW60 hot water heater in a keytone alpine RV. We had a IW60RL but it busted in the recent freeze. We were told not to add anti-freeze to it, that it had a freezing protection however that didn't work.Thank you!

What is the year and model of your Alpine?
For your future posts always include the year and model of your RV and you will get better targeted answers.

The IW60 is the same unit you have that froze up and busted ( most likely the recirculation pump froze ) and all you need to do is yank out the RL model and install the non RL.

The recirculation line simply gets CAPPED OFF since the IW60 has no recirculation pump.

The rest of the install is just reconnecting what you took off the RL unit. You may need to make changes on the control for that NON RL unit as well

The install manual for the IW60 series will have any info needed for wiring in the 12 volt source to operate it

Many Alpine owners have had issues with the IW60RL series.. Hope the plain IW60 is better for you..

And on the newest Alpines Keystone decided to start using the Girard on demand WH..

I would not have any on demand water heater., The Suburban SW12DEL series is very reliable, runs on 120 or LP and is easy to get any part if ever needed..

Wish you the best of luck with the IW60
