Door gaskets
My storage compartment doors leak during a heavy rain. Has anyone had issues with this? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I had a leaking basement compartment door on my fiver. I replaced with a better gasket and still leaked. It turned out water was wicking in through the topside of the exposed hinge lip (very small gap). I ran a very thin bead of proflex caulk along the hinge and no leak since then (over 1 year). I hope this helps.

I can't remember exactly, but I bought a roll at Lowes. Must be butyl rubber. I brought a piece of old gasket and matched it. It was a bit thicker but same width. Make sure to clean surface with isopropyl before installing new material.
If Lowes doesn't have it, try auto parts store, rv store, or pplmotorhomes.com

Thanks therink
I looked at my gasket and there was a good impression around all the doors. I took your advice and put some proflex along the hinges. Hope thar was the issue.

Two tips:
1. make sure it is latched tight, in my case I have to Lock the locking tab and the hand tab, otherwise it is not tight on the gasket.
2. I caulked the seam between the ring that goes around the outside of the door edge and the door. There was a very small gap maybe 1/8 inch, when I opened the door the water poured out untill I did this, I also caulked the small seam on the top of the door where the edge wrap comes together.
After this, sat in over 1 inch of rain and no water in compartments

Well it's rained a few times since I sealed the top of the hinges and everything seems to be staying dry.

Glad to hear it. It was a simple fix for mine. While I was at it, I sealed the top of all 4 of my storage door hinges.
