Pulled out my Umbilical cord...

What an idiot...

Disconnected hitch, pulled forward, wife heard a "crunch"...great way to start the weekend in the woods.

I pulled up a chair, got out the multi-meter, and started re-connecting. Pretty straightforward, got all but 3 figured out. I got the running lights, brakes, turn signals, 12 volt power, and brake lights going.

There are 3 I can't figure out. I have 2 small black wires, one of which has an orange wire connected to it. The black ones go to the breakaway switch, no idea about the orange wire. I figure one goes to the power (black) and the other to the brake wire (blue)?

Has anyone been in their junction box lately? Any help would be very much appreciated.

I think you are correct about the black wires being for the breakaway switch. On my 2010 Springdale a red-orange? wire from the circuit breaker by the battery hooked to one black wire to power the switch other black wire to brakes. I found all this when repairing bad wire nut connections. Installed larger box and added fuse block for better connections. Got fuse block from West Marine.See pic-----LOU----

In your front compartment, up high on the front wall of the trailer, most of the wires from the pigtail connection inside the pin box appear in a single bundle. Power goes to the battery circuit breakers, ground to ground, and so on.

You "should" be able to locate that orange wire there and trace it.

Wiring

Thanks for the replies. I was unable to follow it back into the trailer. The orange wire goes into the trailer behind the bulkhead. I'll spend some more time with the multi meter. Does anyone have a picture of the inside of their j-box?
