Broken sofa "springs"
On my jack knife sofa, the bottom cushions are supported by plastic straps (like 1/2" packing straps) looped around the front and rear frame, then somehow bonded to form the loop. Two of them have come un-bonded. What's the best way to replace these broken straps? I'm tempted to get some tiny c-clamps and "re-bond" them.

Nobody seemed to have an answer for this, not even my local repair shop which referred me to an upholstery shop. So…
I used small hanger strapping and turnbuckles. I looped the strapping around the sofa frame just like the plastic straps, and then used the turnbuckle to tighten it up. Sorry, I didn’t take a picture, but I’ll add one if I remember.

I had same issue except about 6 of the straps had separated. I bought some 1 inch tie-down straps with the ratcheting buckles and installed those in place of the plastic straps. Much stronger. I think I paid around $12 each for two sets of four straps from Lowe's.

I was tempted to go with those, but wanted something less bulky and closer to OEM, but stronger. I forgot to mention that the above materials fix about 7 straps and runs about $20 total.

How did you attach the strap to the closed end of the turnbuckle? Or does turnbuckle have hooks on both ends?

My first turnbuckle had a hook at one end. The others (they ran out of the first) have eyes at both ends. I pounded a nail punch through them to open up the eyes. Sounds cruel, come to think of it.
