Diesel Heater in Toy Hauler
My wife and I always noticed the garage portion of the toyhauler seemed to be cold even though we did have some heat coming out furnace vent. When we don't have our motorcycles in there (travelling) we use the garage as a dining room and since I put a big Screen in there also as our Tv/Movie family room area. I did my research and saw nothing but good reviews about the small diesel heaters for sale on Amazon. I like diesel better then propane anyways as I can go buy more diesel anywhere pretty easily. We purchased the heater and I assembled a temporary rig in our sun room to do some testing prior to cutting holes etc in our rig. The tests went well so I found the perfect spot for it so that the exhaust and air intake come down and out right beside garage steps. Made a custom exhaust pipe , painted it with bbq black heat paint and you cannot even notice it. I made my own fuel tank out of a stubby 5 gal diesel fuel can although it came with a fuel tank. Works fantastic. We happened to be camping in high altitudes here in Canada in late Sept and they got some snow. We were warm and cozy and after a full five days of useage burned less then a gallon of diesel. No smell after initial startup and once it gets room warm slows fan down to and idle and keeps temp constant. Can't say enough good about these little units. Hope it helps someone else if they are thinking about something similar. Cost was around 400 Canadian so take 30% off that in US. LOL
