Backboard Carpet?

I see on a few solar installs where some are placing a felt or carpet on a board that is then used to mount electronics to before mounting inside the RV. What felt or carpet is everyone using for this?

Most WalMart stores have "trunk liner" in various size rolls in the automotive section. It's usually on the same row as the floor mats. It's compressed felt (for lack of a better description) and is the same thing that Keystone used to line the front passthrough storage compartment on my Cougar.
