What inverter do you recommend?

What model inverter is recommended to install in this Cougar 26RBS camper for OTG camping? We don't do it very often but it would be a nice option to have if needed. Our youngest daughter and her family do quite a bit of boondocking and we join them sometimes.

We did have a Trailmanor 3023 with lots of 12 VDC battery powered items and battery packs that worked for us.

We just bought a 2023 Cougar 26RBS a few weeks ago. We THOUGHT is already had the inverter installed because the sales girl stated it had a factory installed inverter along with the Dragonfly lithium batteries with solar panel charging system that provided 120 VAC to the inverted outlets and would even run the air conditioning off the system! Has the 200 watt solar panel, two 100 AH lithium batteries but have discovered on our first camping trip that it does NOT have the inverter in it. As others on this forum have pointed out it is only inverter prepped. You'd think for a 2023 model that lists for $65,000 they would spring for an inverter!

Just looking for recommendations as to what would install in this camper, should we decide to add an inverter.

What brand of inverter is like asking what the best coffee to drink....I would only recommend enough wattage to operate everything you want and get one with internal transfer switch (pass through).

Were they Dragonflys? You had 12v battery packs in your old trailer to power 12vdc items but realize that the inverter is to supply you with 120vac for 120 volt items (hair dryer, coffee maker etc.) so it's a different thing. In that context what will you want to run when off grid? Those 2 100ah batteries aren't going to run a lot for long and the 200w panel isn't going to charge a lot fast.

You have the very basic SolarFlex 200 system, it is standard on every model now. As you noted, it doesn’t have an inverter. You will likely also find that the SolarFlex 200 is barely (if even that) adequate for any length of boondocking. You can add an inverter, but that is only going to drain your system even faster since an inverter is relatively inefficient.

Not trying to rain on your parade, but better you know about these things now than in the middle of an off-grid adventure with no planned alternate power source.
