T-Mobile Home Internet?

I've seen several YouTube videos lately of RVers using this service on the road. Many have stated that it has worked remarkably well for them.

However, I went to a T Mobile store today to ask about it and was told that they discourage using their Home Internet on the road. They said that if the company finds that the usage out of the home area is greater than inside of it that they will disconnect your service.

This isn't a HotSpot. This is specifically the Home Internet service they provide.

Is anyone using this service? With what success?

Thanks...

Works for me but I stay out of populated areas so I don't think they care.

Didn't work in AK or Canada because you need a real TMobile signal and not roaming.

Funny, thing you bring this up. A friend of mine that I camp with all the time and I both got the home internet service. I got mine 1st, and then told him about it. When I got mine the person at the desk, ask what my address was and I thought it was to set my location, but when I asked about it, they told me no, it was to set my mailing address for my account, and that they just used the store location address to set the gateway up. I asked if this matter, and I was told no, as ling as the gateway can get a signal it would work.

Fast forward to my buddy getting his. He goes in the store ask for home internet, and tells them that per their website that they do not office this at his address. He was then told, don't worry about it. If the gateway can't get the best 5Guc but can still get signal it will work, just not as fast. He then went on to be honest with them and told them that he was going to travel with this, and would they turn it off on him for doing that. The store response was no. No weather they were right or wrong, this is what I have seen and heard.

As for the service, I can say 1st hand, that if you are within a tower, it will work. Most spots we camp, he is getting 100mb to 200mb download and 50 to 100mb upload. We have been in a few places were it dropped to LTE and we will getting 20 to 50mb download. Not once in almost a year has he had any trouble. I hope this help in giving you some information, but I am not saying they will not turn it off, I am just saying how his and mine while camping with him have gone.
