6V GC battery up grade

Old group 24 batteries that came with the camper finally wore out.
I made the 6 V GC battery upgrade, what performance increase can I expect?
This is an apples to apples lead acid battery swap, I couldn't justify the price of lithium or AGM though I know those will perfrom better.

You should see more amp hours, meaning longer “run time” before recharge needed. Down side is they take a little longer to charge.

Forgot to mention that afterhours, when the Genny is shut off. We only run the furnace and maybe a little TV through a 75W inverter.

Furnace is the battery killer. Depends on how cold it gets and how often the furnace fires up ( the fan is the biggest user).

I was very surprised heating all night in next to freezing, to see the 12v consumption...

We try not to use the furnace a whole lot but it is close to mandtory in May and September here in Alaska. Also during those times we choose campgrounds with hookups. Yet there are many places we go that do not have hookups.

Next thing I would like to to is wire in a trickle charger and battery cut off switch.

If you have power available for a trickle charger why not just plug the rv in & let the onboard converter do the job as it was designed?

My plan is to totally disconect the batteries and keep a charge on them while in storage without running through the converter. It was plenty easy to just pull the group 24s out every fall but these GC batteries are a little heavier and don't have handles

Amazon can "fix that handle problem"... Golf cart batteries are not intended to be moved around frequently. They were designed to sit under a golf cart seat, wired in with way too many cables to unhook and move batteries unless they were being replaced. So, manufacturers don't provide handles.

Amazon provides handles and most people who use GC2's in their trailer wind up buying a couple so they can move the batteries around without getting battery acid on their new jeans....

Here's the link to the ones I have: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And a photo of what you get:
