I have several Zero G hoses around the house and for the RV. I like them.
One issue is they are not compatible with other hoses. Their metallurgy on the hose ends is an alloy that will lock on a different brand hose. . I have two hoses connected together that I cannot break apart, even using pipe wrenches. I am thinking the Zero G is stainless and alloy of some sort that doesn’t like brass.
I would think it’s OK to connect for a short time but mine have been connected for a couple years.

I do really like the look of that hose though, and I've saved it in my list for when ours bites it.
Now I'd like to see a second filter added to that and really test the durability of that water connection.

You’re the victim of Galvanic Reaction between the two mating ends. Especially after a few years as you said.

Years ago I got tired of kinked hoses and rolling them up. I started using a garden hose reel. Never had issues again. Finding one that fit on of my storage compartment bays with the challenge, but I finally found one and used it for years. It was made of plastic and the feet finally broke out.

For Christmas (2022) my wife purchased 2 of these (internet). One for the garden hoses and one for the electric cord. Laying on it's back on the ground, it's solid as can be. It's designed to be attached to the side of the house. It's made of metal and fits great in my storage area in the camper. I finally purchased a male-to-male adapter and a female-to-female adapter so I can run the hose backwards to the water spigot. This way, I don't have to carry the reel to the spigot. I can just reel it out starting at the camper. And the best of all .... absolutely no kinks.

Since this photo was taken, I now have 100 feet of white RV hose (don't remember which brand now). But this works very, very well. Rolls up easy, and no kinks any more.

My old one that broke up:

I just checked Amazon.com and the price on this one has come way down.
