Monitor panel

I have a 2017 Passport. Put in new batteries and the monitor panel quit working. Checked fuses. One of the 40 amp fuses was hot. Any ideas?

Did you maybe wire them in series (24V) instead of parallel? That would heat stuff up.

It’s two 6 V. They are in the way the others were.

Were the others 12v or 6v?

The old ones were the same - two 6V side by side

Get a multimeter, set to DC volts. Find a 12V cig-lighter-style plug in your rig (most have at least one) and test between the inner center contact and the side. If it says anything other than around 12-13V, the batteries are wired wrong.

Correction to the original post -
Batteries changed
Panel checked and new batteries were low
Trailer plugged in
Panel quit

OK.
Are you at home? At a CG? Is the outlet known good (wired correctly for 30A 120V)?

At home. The outlet is good and has always been used for the trailer

Now you need to locate and test the "reverse polarity" fuses. they will be either on the back of the converter or off to the side of the row of 12V fuses.
