First big trip!

We're taking the new Tracer from KC to Surfside Beach TX the first week of May.

Super excited! We're doing a 7 hour haul the first day and 6 the second. We normally do 4 to the daughters house so we should be ok. Stopping at cooper lake state park outside of Sulphur springs TX.

We found a rv park that had an available spot looking out at the gulf.

Here's the planned routes never been that way through OK or until 45 south of Dallas.

Wish us luck!

Congrats on the trip, it should be fun! That should be a pretty good ride. 45 outside of Dallas might get kind of congested but not to worry. When you get close to Houston you don't know anymore - I hate the place. At least you're taking the furthest out "loop" (what I call it, on 99). Don't know your itinerary but I try to avoid both Dallas and Houston from 7-10am and 4-6pm. Sometimes that doesn't work out and I've made it through at the busiest hours as well - I just hate locking down every time you look up or sitting in stalled traffic for 3 hours. Surfside Beach should be fun and you can mosey on up the road to Galveston if you get bored.

I hope your trip goes well. That’s a long time in the drivers seat, did you plan for any stops other than fuel?

Thanks!
We've been to Surfside about 6 times just no Camper! We hate Dallas that's way we aren't going 35 from KC! There's no easy way around Houston we should hit it around 11 or so we hope! Thast outer rode was decent in 2011 the last time we went.

Yep DW and I switch every 2 hours or so and we'll stop for a good lunch break. Leaving at 6 am too avoid some of the rush traffic in KC. Its on easy drive at least to Joplin. We'll see how 69 is.... If we get too tired we have a house with us!
