Will need a new trailer.....

With two bedrooms if my snoring gets worse, ARG.

Yes, I could lose a few pounds, like 40 or so, but even thin I had snoring issues.
As I age it does seem to be getting worse and I really feel bad for my wife.
I know I hate it when others snore, my brother was terrible.

Looking for anybody who has had success with any of these devises you can buy?

To date I have done nothing, that is so me.
But I want to try and find some solution, if any without buying a bigger trailer with separate bedrooms, ARG!!!!!

Don't know that I have that problem....I'm asleep! Have you tried different sleeping positions? My ex SIL had that problem and kept DD awake all night. At first he tried the little strips that attach over the outside of the nostrils which helped to some degree but not enough. IIRC he eventually went to some kind of electronic device (CPAP?). Now that they're divorced don't know if he still uses it or not.

DW had surgery to handle the snoring about 20 years ago. Well worth it for both of us. The pressure it causes on the whole family is terrible. Give a visit to your physician some thought.

Suggest you find a sleep specialist doctor and get tested for sleep apnea. Get an in-clinic test and if you suffer from sleep apnea they can prescribe a CPAP or BIPAP machine and your snoring will be a thing of the past. If you don't have sleep apnea, a wedge shaped pillow that lifts your head may help.

Talk to your doctor and they should send to an ENT (ear, nose &throat) doctor or a pulmonary specialist or order a sleep study. Sleep apnea kills people, find out what's going on, don't ignore it. If your primary care doctor sends you to a pulminary doctor expect a wait to get an appointment as covid has left a lot of folks with lung damage.

I solved my snoring problem with a Grand Design Reflection 31MB. Wife loves her own bunkroom with storage. Little expensive fix, though.

My wife was a horrid "snorer!" She snored so bad I thought she was suffocating at night. I woke her up many, many times.

She also woke up with severe headaches from breathing so bad in her sleep. She "was" a mess.

She ended up getting Rhinoplasty Click here. to help her breathe better at night and reduce the snoring. Her insurance covered everything. It took about 6 weeks of recovery before she was back to "normal" again..... except almost all the snoring completely stopped. Only very, very rarely does she snore now.

Check it out with your doctor. If it truly is medical and not cosmetic, this procedure does work and works well.

Thank you all who responded, er, except the one who fixed it with a bigger trailer

I will turn to my doctor and look deeper into it.
I'm tired of being selfish because I would rather remain ignorant.

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea several years ago, currently use a C Pap machine. No more snoring for me. They are not for everyone, they take a serious amount of getting used to but I will say, it sure helps me breath at night. Even with severe allergies it keeps me open and breathing instead of stuffed and awake cuz I can't breath.

I had no trouble adapting to a BiPap machine with extremely high pressures except finding the right mask. I no longer roll around or have strange fleeting dreams but actually get some good REM sleep. And as Max23 noted, even with a stuffy nose, breathing with the machine makes that disappear.

my son got me an apple SE watch for christmas…i read all of the stories of people being alerted to heart problems and saved by their apple watch so son thought it was a good gift for me.

I started wearing it for sleep and it’s been great….it’s funny how your perception of things can be…when i would have swore i tossed and turned all night it would show i was only restless for about 20 min then fast asleep..with a solid core sleeping schedule and it shows a few deep sleep cycles and rem..shows your breathing also…pretty cool …alarm wakes you with a couple vibrations and low music

when you set sleep schedule it also reminds you that your getting close to bedtime lol..plays a couple of notes of a bedtime lullaby and i swear i start yawning

After starting Bipap, I wanted to gauge whether it was effective so I bought a Pulse Oximeter similar to the one below. I thought that the less expensive ones that just clipped onto the end of my finger would be dislodged. I found it useful and reassuring. It gives you SPO2 measurements through the night and will alert if there are heart irregularities.

I had the sleep study and the consult with the doctor. I have very mild sleep apnea so it was recommended I find a way to sleep on my side. I found this "snore ball" from amazon works and it is included in the packing for all camping trips. magnetic ball

No more complaints from the wife, kids, grandkids. Just one man's experience. I sleep better as well.

one thing to be aware of is if you go to your doctor and you say i think i may have sleep apnea and he suggests a sleep study then you better follow thru with it.
sleep apnea is one of the things my insurance guy said is looked at seriously by life insurance companies..if the doctor writes down that he or she thinks you should set up an appt for one and you for whatever reason just don’t do it they will deny you coverage..if you don’t follow thru with any of the treatment they can deny you if your up for renewal. you will probably pay higher rates as well because it’s a pre existing condition.

not saying don’t tell your doctor, i’m just saying that almost EVERYTHING you say is bothering you to your doctor gets written down whether it’s a one time passing ailment or long term

I snored for many years. The wive(s) always complained. They told me that I would stop breathing at night for anywhere from 5 seconds to 30 seconds the whole time my chest was trying to rise and bring in air but my throat was closed and could not breath. I went to my doctor, he sent me to a sleep doctor who did a sleep study overnight in a clinic. Within an hour the techs brought in a cpap machine, hooked me and the snoring stopped. My breathing became regular again. Doctor prescribed me a cpap machine. He explained to me that to snore that bad and to stop breathing for that long is very close to dying from asphyxia and that the only reason that I started breathing again at night was because my body's natural instinct to survive kicks in to awaken me to the point of breathing again. I would HIGHLY suggest getting it checked out. I have worn the cpap mask for years and I do not ever try to go to bed without it.Besides, the doctors and the cpap are a bit cheaper that a new 2 br RV.

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea in 1992. I was not and am not overweight, it was a hereditary thing. Being diagnosed and getting a cpap was life altering for me; no more snoring, no more falling asleep at traffic lights, no more high blood pressure, and now feeling energized all the time. As a result of my diagnosis, my older brother, younger sister and our mother all were diagnosed and are on a good path. Over the years I looked into various other alternatives to the cpap, but doctors all said I wasn’t likely to see positive results from surgery. My wife likes the white noise of the cpap, doesn’t miss my snoring and hates when I travel for business. There is a new treatment that involves implanting wires in your neck and a pacemaker-like device in your upper chest. Not a fan of the cost though…..

CPAP Solved it

Since I was not overweight at 195# and over 6' tall, weight was not the issue. Before I went to cpap, primary doctor sent me to an ear nose and throat doctor. I had several surgeries done. Rhynoplasty, nasal turbinate reduction, UPPP which is a surgery in the throat to remove tissue. NONE of those surgeries helped. CPAP solved my problem 100% but did take few weeks to get used to the nose and throat mask. All good after that! Suggestion, get the cpap mask that covers your nose and mouth and NOT the "nose pillow".

+1 for Sleep study. Bought a home portable pulse/oximeter; ring finger style is $150 from Lookee- wear at night and download info to cell=easy. Shows pulse and oxygen level AND stopping events= stuff that kills you. CPAP fixed all.
