What year, make and model of the trailer? What kind of slide (hydraulic, cable, schwintek etc.)?

Might be best to start a new thread. While you are at it, perhaps put a signature together with year, make and model of your camper and same for your tow vehicle. There are quite a few types of slide actuation mechanisms and it would be a lot easier to answer your questions with some background that a signature can provide. BTW: The thread you replied to is over 10 years old. Was interesting that he OP had a Keystone Bobcat. Never heard of that model.

Good catch George guess I wasn't paying enough attention.

2017 Keystone Laredo
cable system
when it slides out, it will normally tilt back before going out, now after 2", it drops back forward with a softer bang on the inside left. First one was a loud bang on the inside right when I brought it in

Look above the slide behind the facia to see what your pulleys/cables look like up top. They may have slipped off the pulleys, pulled them loose or the motor came loose etc. Put an eye on it and see what you've got.

I did that as I was trying to slide it out, pulleys have a shield over them. The bangs
were coming from the bottom of the slide
I know if I take it into the dealer I won't get it back until next year.

Make sure all the cables are tight (not broken). If there is room, with the room retracted you should be able to take the covers off.

Easy fix, but do it right away

On top of your slide, on the interior you’ll see the cables and Four turnbuckles. Your Loud bang is at least one pair of turnbuckles hitting each other, as they are most likely perpendicular to the back wall. They should be vertical as they pass each other. One locks into the other, only giving way until the load stresses overcome the jam. If not corrected, they will destroy each other.
This is caused by one or both cables being to slack. Tighten the offending cable(s) and visually check that they pass each other without touching. Operational checks are due before each use. Vibrations and hard bumps while towing cause these cables to slacken, it’s the nature of the beast.

The poster Rueger hasn't been on the forum since 8/2022 so doubt this info will get to where you intend. If you click on a person's username and profile it shows the last time logged in. Good advice though and it may help someone in the future.
