Looks like the snake was in there for a while and shed one skin. It apparently shorted out the circuitry judging by the green corrosion and fried the snake.
There is a warning sticker referring to the heat sink being ungrounded but it is upside down and hard to read as you pull the unit out.
four pics attached and I'll add more

Are you suggesting that the snake couldn’t read the warning sticker because it was upside down?…i call bulls&$#

sounds like your close to getting it resolved..maybe you should take the opportunity to upgrade to a lithium capable charger if you are thinking of solar in the future

Yeah I'm going to dump the Keystone. I mean who puts a furnace in that you can't repair without cutting wires and disconcerting the gas line just to change the sail switch. No outside access. Guess they saw me coming.

Keystone isn’t the only manufacturer that installs furnaces that way. BRAND of furnace decides if it has an outside access panel.

Don’t believe that. Cost is the reason, extra $20. Hits the bottom line

From reading your complaints that maybe a good choice. Then you can move on to another similarly priced brand and experience the EXACT same issues. I'm not defending Keyston, I am however making an observation about expectations. It's a trailer, not a 21' $80K aluminum trailer or a $1M+ motorhome. Let's say the Keystone produces 100 trailers per day. Let's also say that deep cleaning the construction debris that's in unseen areas, at least usually only techs see those areas. If the delay means 99 trailers get built then the price of those 99 will increase by the loss of the 100 th unit that wasn't produced.
We often read critical comments about " it would only have cost x amout of money for Keystone to use a better whatever and I'd gladly pay the difference ". One issue with that is when you extrapolate that over the scale of production and those "minor" price differences can cost a company millions and the stockholders wouldn't like that.
I agree that the manufacturers could and should be doing a better job but if you want quality and pride in workmanship then I think it's unrealistic to expect that in any high volume, competitive price point RV brand. JMO, YMMV

I didn’t buy it because it was cheap. Wish I had looked closer but I didn’t so it’s on me. That said I won’t buy another trailer, end of story and this thread
