Smile Recall Notice

Good Morning. I recently received a recall notice indicating that there is a loose wire under one of our slides. It doesn’t indicate which slide it is. Anyone know which slide it is and how to repair it. I called keystone and the women in customer service did not know. We have a 2021 MHC 331RL. Thank you.

Did the recall state the year(s) affected? I have a 2020 but have not seen a notice.

This link will take you to the "short version of the recall notice" https://www.arfc.org/rvs/keystone/mo...92/recall.aspx

It looks like it is the 120 volt shore power connector under the trailer where the wiring transitions from the main frame to the slide. Apparently there were some trailers that had that wiring connection "improperly connected or improperly sealed" and water could enter the connection, increasing the risk of fire. At least that's what this version of the recall notice indicates.

It's probably not a difficult repair, but depending on your expertise with electrical connections, it may be something you want to defer to the dealership for repair.

Thank you. I have no problem doing the repair being a master electrician. I just need to know where to look and determine what the repair will be

These images are the quick splice connectors located under the coroplast covering on the belly of your RV

The splices should be mounted to the frame..usually with a block of wood..this keeps them up off the coroplast so they don’t get wet, etc
