Removing Toy hauler rear lift bed

We have the 2 standard lift beds in our 10 ft garage for a Raptor toyhauler. The top bed we want to keep but we would like to remove the bottom bed that folds back into a couch on each side. The couches though do not fold flat up against the wall as the seat portion is on a fixed support. Is there a way to remove the bottom bed and still use the top bed in its bunk position when needed? https://www.happijac.com/bed-lifts/

That’s strange that the couches don’t fold flat against the wall. Have never seen that in a Raptor/Keystone. Every one I’ve seen has pins to pull to drop the seats down.

Anyway, to answer your question, yes. The top bunk can still be used, just have to pull the pins that lock it up and drop it down to the stop. It’s a free floating bed and rides on the bottom bed/couch. Removing the bottom one will just make it all manual, probably at least a two person operation and not nearly as easy.

You can remove the bottom couches, it may involve taking the screws out that hold the seat to the bracket. Then the bracket should come out and you can use the up/down button to move the upper bed.

Currently replacing an interior wall in a TH and I had to remove the D/S assembly

Had to fix the bed lift Com cable so I was able to lift the lower couch. You only need to remove 1 bolt on each side:

Doesn’t that lower portion unlock from the frame and the seat swivel down against the wall? The OP says his doesn’t, I’ve never seen one that doesn’t. That lower seat would pretty much ruin any use of the garage.

Yeah, but I was working on the other side and 3/4 of the bench screws were gone. It’s a LOT easier to maneuver if you take that bolt out. Then the bracket comes out of the lift plate easy.

Pics are a 2018 voltage, but happi jac should be the same.

That’s what I was thinking. My understanding from reading the OP post is he wants to remove the lower bunk because the couch portion doesn’t drop against the wall so it’s interfering with the use of the garage. I’ve never seen a Happy Jack setup where the don’t drop against the wall. I’ve seen the system like Chuck is working on where the couches click into the brackets and I’ve seen the cheaper models that are held in with pins. Maybe the OP could post some pics of his.

Thank you everyone we will get some pictures to post this weekend and try it again to see if we can get them to hang. Never heard about a pin to remove will look for that.too. Bought it used from a dealer wish they had showed us how to use the beds.

If you look at the picture I posted, the pin goes through the hole next to the bolt.
