Hello and happy winter!
Hello, very new to rv trailer life and we are full time living in a 2014 Outback 323bhs while we build our home. New to us from a wonderful family. I've had minimal experience in running a trailer and was more of a weekend/week camper.
Learning curves are an understatement while enjoying another Canadian winter, lol, but loving this family time.

Been there Done that! Wife and I lived in a 18 Ft. camper while we built our first home. That was over 50 yrs. ago.

And you survived! Canadian winters are no joke here and I've definitely stepped outside of most boxes on winter prep and living! Thanks for the positive greetings and hope!

Youtube is your friend. Lots of crazy folk living in RVs in Canada it seems during the bitterly cold winters up there.... why? Dunno but I think I already used the word crazy!

Haha! They've got nothing on me. 90% of my trailer is now encased in 1" R5 rigid foam (yes trailer has an arctic pkg) secured with foil tape including the whole of the slide outs. I did buy a No Freeze water hose as my McGyver'd one didn't like -25 C. 100lb propane tank hooked you and we are good. 2 dehumidifiers though. 1 wasn't enough. ��

There are many names for the heating pads or furnace warmed basements; Arctic, Polar, Four Seasons and I have actually seen where the temps they claim to withstand are tested in a box at the factory. All of these cold weather claimed packages are optimistic advertising. You need to take some pics of your rigid wrapped camper.... wow.

Winter in an RV sucks and that is experience talking, not just hate of winter. We do what we have to do tho

Pics of my insulated trailer.
Hope this works! This is 1" R5 rigid foam and foil tape. This tape doesn't leave a residue and works in super cold weather. Only the paper backed foil tape works. Windows are shrink plasticed on the inside.
I drilled a hole through the floor into my water pump space and directly connected it saving a possible frozen spot at the outside connection. Rigid foam is also inside pump box against the water connectors and outside the same area.

Looks good! I’d be cautious having an open fire anywhere close to it as foam is very flammable I was going to do my basement in foam and was told by the insulation company that I’d need to have a coating sprayed on it to give it a fire rating or cover it with Sheetrock also I would encourage people not to make their trailer super airtight or your going to be breathing foul air and possible CO issues.You need some outside air to replace the stale air and provide for proper combustion of fuel burning appliances (stove).
A person could only survive so long sealed in a styrofoam cooler

Thanks! I keep a vent cracked in both kitchen and bath, and run the a/c or fan often. The a/c also helps with any excess humidity. On nicer days I leave the door open for a bit as well
The foam does have a ship lap edge but nothing is perfectly air tight. There's also an access panel at the back of the long slide where my generator is and to access the tank lines underneath. Definitely no open fires nearby, lol.
I started with just the skirting and quickly realized I needed more coverage to combat condensation as it got colder.
