Roof Maintenance-20133 238ML

We bought our used 2013 238ML about a year and a half ago and have really loved it. I was curious about roof maintenance. I’d like to do it myself but have read how important it is to use the same exact type of sealant when resealing around vents and other areas. How can I tell what was used originally or by the previous owner? I want to make sure I do this correctly with the right materials but maybe this is something better left to the experts? Any advice?

IMO roof mtce. should be done by the owner; it's relatively easy, relatively inexpensive, you do it when you need to vs waiting months for a dealer to do it for you and you know exactly what you have "up there" vs always wondering when the first drip is going to fall. To me it doesn't make sense to pay a guy $145 hr. to clean, scrape and reapply sealant.

As far as existing, it is probably dicor but a previous owner may have used who knows what. If there are problematic areas just scrape it off and reapply new dicor. The application is easy, removing the old, or if just dirty and with a crack or two - cleaning, isn't hard. Just use alcohol and rub away. If they used silicone up there it needs to come off and that can be a chore...but it can be done.
