Carefree EZ Zipblocker

Just bought one of these and am looking forward to getting it installed this weekend. Question, when it is in use and staked, does it anchor the awning also? I know I cant roll it up while the blocker is still staked down but in a little wind will it keep the awning from bellowing up? I figure if it is a storm that just comes up quickly I can unzip it and roll the awning up. I was excited to find this one because my awning is 10' in the air when extended. It has a 3' flap down to the zip seam so I can actually reach it to install.

Hi, we think the ez zip blockers are great we have them on both of our awnings. They seem to keep a lot of sun and heat off the 5th wheel. The part that you leave on also works like a sun visor when you don't need the whole thing. When we stake ours down we usually put the stakes in about 2-3 feet away from the vertical drop of the blocker and use flat fabric bungee cords attached between the blocker and stakes. This keeps the blocker at an angle and allows a nice air flow under it, because it can get pretty warm if there is no air flow. As for anchoring the awning it keeps it from blowing around some but I wouldn't rely on it as a hold down point in strong winds or a storm. Ya we really like them.

I don't trust my carefree EZ Zipblocker to anchor my awning at all. I secure my awning with straps and painter poles first before zipping on my Zipblocker. I can actually fly out my Zipblocker to add more outdoor patio area.

Made by Camco to tie down electric awnings.

I like this idea. We have a slide that is under our awning so adding space is always something we are trying for.

Maybe a stupid question but you attach this to the awning right not the grommets on the sunshade?

Those of you that have answered, does water go through the sunshade or does it tend to run down the outside?
