Out of Stroke error won't clear

Lippert Ground Control 3.0 (Electric)

All, Leveling the rig when I returned it to storage. As it retracted the front jacks to gain level from to back I got a "Error LF". All my efforts so far to clear to have failed. The jack will not retract in Retract All Mode. Will not retract in manual mode. Will not extend. It just refuses to move. I have pulled power and reset all I can but still no joy.

Any ideas?

Are you plugged in to shore power?

My Dad had a similar issue on his motorcoach recently. The first option is to reset the system. If that doesn’t work, you can manually operate each piston using an allen wrench and a cordless drill. That was a motorcoach so yours could be different. Here is a Youtube link that might help:

Yes to power. Hooked up to my small Honda 1000. Lippert control panel shows battery at 15.1V

I’d disconnect cable at that leveler and reconnect then see if it will respond to retract in manual mode.

If it does then do the “rehome” procedure for the hall sensors

I agree. Rehome and it should work. You can manually operate each jack from the bottom of the gear box using a 5/16” socket.

I had some issues with one jack this spring and was having a hard time determining the problem. I finally unhooked the cannon connector right at the leveler jack and ran the leveler up and down with some wires crammed into the connector with the other end hooked to a battery charger. Finally determined that I had a bad motor on the leveler that way.

I’ll head back over tomorrow with some jack stands and try all your suggestions. I appreciate all your input

Shortly after we purchased our Montana High Country 375FL, I had an error code and no matter what I did, I could not get it to move. It was in January in Indiana. I took it to my RV dealership, as it was still under warranty (only 4 months), and they took a look at it. They ended up having to manually move the jack with a wrench on the top of jacks (electric) because, for some reason, it just froze stuck. Once they wiggled it loose again, everything worked again. They cleared the error codes by extracting all the jacks 6 inches manually, and then retracted them all at once and rehomed and cleared my errors.

I would have never attempted or even thought to manually try to move them, but watching how they did it, if it ever froze up again, I wouldn't be so scared. They determined it was frozen because they disconnected the power to the one jack and attached it directly to a free standing battery. The motor tried to move, but it couldn't. That's when they broke it free manually with a wrench.

I never had another issue after that, that could not be dealt with myself.

Watch the YouTube videos, and read the manuals. You might have to move the one jack manually (like with a wrench) to get it to break free. I could be stuck if you've tried everything else.

Update

Using these instructions from the manual. I was able to get the jack moving again and the able to retract all and get the system reset.

1. Run the system by pressing "FRONT" (Fig. 1G). A special jack error code should occur. If not, introduce
the special jack error code.
Note: To introduce an error, disconnect 1 of the hall effect sensor wires from the controller. After
attempting to operate the disconnected jack, the touchpad screen will display an error. Reconnect
the hall effect sensor wire.
