Equa-Flex suspension

Just bought a 2011 Cougar 24 RKS. Towed it home (600 mi) without issues but when I backed it into the driveway - a tight turn over the curb - there were loud clinks (clanks?) from the axle area and at one point it looked like one axle was completely out of alignment, but after a bit of forward-backward everything looks normal. The axles are equipped with "Equa-Flex" equalizers, which I assume was standard on this model.
The salesman where I bought the trailer assures me that this is normal behavior and I should not worry about it. Should I be concerned? Should I have it checked out locally?
Thanks
