Just curious, was your trailer plugged into the truck? Even though you’re running a generator the trailer will drain the truck batteries. I learned that the hard way.

I don't have an opinion (imagine THAT) but it might be true.
Hotter weather does shorten battery life. I use to have two homes one in new England and one in south west fl. We would spend six months of the year in each. Summer in new england and winter in fl. My oem batteries lasted 7 years under those living conditions. Then we sold the house up north and moved to fl full time . I now get 3 years max on a set of truck batteries. I have tried 3 different types no difference. Another bit of info to support heat being an issue is southern batteries have lower cca rating this is because they have fewer plates inside in order to increase spacing between and increase fluid amounts to improve cooling,

Also less amps needed since your not trying to start a diesel in freezing conditions…with oil as thick as molasses

Dear Gearhead: I hope you found the 10 mm wrench. Would hate for it to be tossed up hard on something......

No the 5th wasn't connected to the truck.
I have a cabover truck camper and that issue of the camper draining the truck battery is a common conversation subject.
