From the way I read post #16 the power was off and he disconnected the batteries and recorded the voltage.

Marshall, you a correct, batteries disconnected, connected, power off and power on at pedestal.
We had no interruption in power last evening, but I still have a dark EMS panel.

The parks power may have taken out part of the power management system.

I would talk to them.

You are correct, they were disconnected, but apparently not allowed to rest. A 12 volt battery won't stabilize at voltage that high.

Jim I pulled a schematic from Chucksters post..it’s a similar panel with the DRV wiring diagram…has the refrigerator monitor also but that’s irrelevant..anyway it looks like there should be a fuse for the monitor panel right at the battery

Maybe when you were checking the voltage and disconnected the battery’s you left that wire off? Or the fuse is blown…should be around the battery’s somewhere…that may be why everything is working now after the utility workers fixed the pedestal but the monitor is dark…the ems is doing its job now possibly but the monitor is just not displaying

Understood, but I think your making assumptions. Perhaps jim can tell us how much time lapsed. The thing is, iof the battery only had a "top charge" it should have been capable of illuminating the interior lights for a few minutes before going flat. At least that's always been my experience.

I agree. It sounds like his issue lies elsewhere.

This is the only one anywhere near the batteries. And it also measures 13.52 volts on both sides.

Well…darn…I’m thinking it would be a smaller perhaps 10 or 15 amp spade fuse…maybe in your power center one of the fuses is tied to that? It was worth a shot. Hope you get it figured out…perhaps if you remove the display you can check for 12 volts at the display? But I guess I’d call the company and see if a tech can help figure it out …certainly seems like power is getting to your ems or it likely wouldn’t work and power is just not making it to the display

Still no progress. And no return call from the EMS company. RV park changed out the guts in the pedestal after I only got one leg of service cut off on Tuesday. No problems since, but my panel is still blank.
The problem is gone, but still no answers and no readout on the panel.

End result is as follows: FPL tech came out and said that they have the park hooked through a capacitor in this section. It keeps the voltage at 245-255 volts. I didn't ask a lot after that. He said it was run with a capacitor because in the summer the air conditioning draws were huge and they needed the excess voltage.
He said he was going over to take the capacitor off-line and it would go back to 240 volts. It now reads 239-242 volts and everything has been fine for a week.
Yes, it did peak at 259 and 261 volts previously and our surge protector kicked us off.
The mystery still exists in that when the surge protector kicks in EVERYTHING is dead for the allotted ten minutes. If we have a power outage from FPL then only the 110 volt is dead and all the 12 volt systems are still active as is the generator and the invertor for the fridge. Maybe this is way the surge protector works?

Maybe your transfer switch still sees voltage even though the ems won’t let it pass through to your rig..glad you got it sorted
