Best Caulk and why? (Not for roof)

Hi Relatively new to this Keystone forum!

So... what’s the best caulk to use on the exterior of the trailer? (Not the roof)

I’m guessing this is like asking about oil on a Harley forum!

Throughout the forum, I’ve seen mentions of one type of caulk or the other! I recently purchased a 2015 Outback 230TRS (Sept 2020) and it needs some TLC! The roof is solid and dicor touched up the roof at the keystone dealer just after I bought it! This past week, I was off work and had the opportunity to spend lots of time doing some projects on the trailer and really looking it over! There are lots of areas that need attention with caulk!!! It’s still tooo cold here to even think about caulking, so I’m researching!

Welcome to the forum

You have a couple choices. Proflex is good as is pro seal. Sika Flex is good but is also an adhesive so it’s hard to remove if you need to do anything. We use “Boss 378” silicone a majority of the time. It’s easy to apply, easy to clean and it does “stick to itself” if you have to apply another layer.

Lexel ,or Through the roof is the Cadillac of caulking. But its silicone based, and as far as I know only available in clear.
