Carbon 5R steps - Modified

My 2018 Carbon 5th wheel had a very poorly designed step assembly going up to the bedroom. 3 steps, 3 very different heights. It was dangerous walking down, as you don't expect such a drastic change in step height. 3 months after mine was built, the factory changed production to be all 3 the same height.

Thanks for posting the video. It’s good to see how the steps are constructed. Our riser heights are not mismatched like yours were, but it’s a high traffic area that will probably need at least a new floor finish eventually.

How did you attach the new flooring to the subfloor?

I shot only a few brad nails into the flooring at the outboard edge shoe mold - not shown in video, then the spiral nails through the metal corner trim to hold it in place. I think the trip I'm taking next weekend will tell me if its secure, which I think it is. There is no movement or slack in it now.
