New guy from San Diego

Hello everyone here in RV Forum land. The wife and I have been campers for a few years before we decided we were too old to sleep in damp sleeping bags and deflated air mattresses. We purchased a used 2007 Weekend Warrior 3105 fifth wheel an few years ago and caught the RV camping bug. We were in our camper one weekend a month and could justify something bigger. In preparation to go full time in six years after my beautiful bride retires from the school district following her 20 years of service we took the plunge and purchased a 2014 Keystone Fusion Chrome 404 from Best RV in Turlock CA. We pulled our 2007 up and pulled our 404 back to San Diego in the same day. We love the size and upgrades and look forward to sharing our travels and experience with others that enjoy the same lifestyle. We also put a lot of stock in campground reviews written by real campers.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. I always like to pick a forum and stay with just one to minimize confusion. We are off to Sedona for Thanksgiving. I’m installing tire temperature and pressure monitors this weekend to hopefully prevent excessive damage when not if I have a tire go flat. Anyone else have success with the tire monitors?

Cobalert, We're thinking about spending a month in San Diego in January or February 2015. We were leaning toward the KOA in Chula Vista. Do you have any recommendations about where to stay? We want amenities but nothing outrageous. Haven't been to San Diego since 1968 so really need some help.

Camping in San Diego.

koko, the Chula Vista KOA is a great place for kids with lots of activities to keep them occupied. Can be a little noisy during the day. If you enjoy the quiet and hanging out at the pool or walking down the marina check out Chula Vista RV Resort off J street. We stay at both

Thanks for the information. We're real KOA people and have lots of free nights accumulated, but we wondered about other places there, too. I think KOA will be our spot.
