Pump not priming after maintenance

I have had my Premier Bullet a month. After my first trip I took it in for some warranty work and discovered they knew the fresh water tank had a hole in it from the factory. So they replaced it.

Now my pump will not prime. On continuous run it blows more air than water. I have checked all the connections around the pump. No leaks no air sucking that I can detect. I have tried priming all the lines with city water as well as emptying them. I have tried with faucets open and closed. I cannot get to the lower part of the system by the fresh water tank as I have a Thermal Package. Any recommendations? Camping World will not return my call on this and I am leaving for vacation in a few days.

If the suction line has a hole in it this will happen or the pump it self has a leak on the suction side. For process of elimination install another pump. Make sure your fresh water tank is full and open up kitchen and bathroom faucet to purge all air out. Another thing to try hook up to city water and purge your lines and your water heater first. Then run the pump. After you diconnect the city water. Good luck I think you will find your problem.

Thanks. I have tried all those things except replacing the pump as I don't have a spare. I am pretty sure I will have to take it back to Camping World for them to remove the bottom of the trailer and find out what they did wrong.

Don't know if you have tried this but fill the fresh water tank to the max till water comes out the vent near the fresh water fill, then turn on the pump to see if you get water, I am thinking that the suction tube inside the tank is either not long enough, fell off, or they did not install it properly, if you fill the tank to the brim you should be pulling water only, you may have to keep water trickling into the fill to keep air out of the tank while the pump is on....Good Luck

Thanks All!!!

Thank you all! The trickle of water running into a full fresh water tank allowed the pump to prime but it would still kick on every six seconds for one second no matter what.

The manual says it does not hurt the pump to run dry but it does to run with pressure against a closed valve.

Once I learned all this today, Camping World returned my call and said I could bring it in Monday morning and they would have it fixed before my Dallas trip this week. I am sure it is sucking air somewhere out of the fresh water tank to the pump.

Thanks again!
