Talking Newbies to the camping world!!

OK all..new to this whole website and new to camping/rving period!! We are 67 y/o and are tired of taxes, upkeep of house, yard work and STUFF in our house. Looking to downsize and basically just get out from under everything! We plan to LIVE in our 5th wheel 2009 Keystone Montana year-round! And we've NEVER camped before....ever!! Figured why not take a shot at it, huh? Life is short..take chances! We can always go back to a house and "stuff." We are really, really excited about our adventure but would also like any advice you can give to newbies who plan to "live" year-round. We will be at a local park district campground in Havana, IL from April through Oct., then moving to a small "trailer park" setting about 10 miles away for the winter months.

If you Google "RV full timing" or "RV full timers" or something similar, you will find numerous sites and other information related to RV full timers.

We do have several full timers here on the forum and hopefully they will jump in and offer their words of wisdom.

Oh yes, to the forum - plenty of RVing topics here for you to read in your spare time - several of which will help get you started off on the right foot. Have you checked out the "Full timers and Snowbirds" category right here on the forum? Also, check out the instructional Stickies found at the beginning of many of the sub-forums. There is much to be learned from reading those.

Great source of information:

One of the best places to find out a great deal about RV life, details you need to know as well as full time RVing is to visit your local library. Their are a number of good books out that should answer a lot of your questions especially those you do not know to ask!
