If it is a Lippert through-frame slide out system, the motor will have a big DC draw. Two wires connect to the motor from wires coming off the frame and there will be wire nuts connecting the trailer wires to the motor. Someone will have to actuate your slide switch while you put a meter on the wires from the trailer after taking off the frame nuts. If you have 12V power and the slides are not working there is a good chance the motors are fried.
The motors come off pretty easily. If you remove them, you can take them to a car battery and put the leads on the battery terminals to see if the motor spins. Doesn't matter how you place the wires as the motor will spin one way or the other. When you reconnect to the camper wiring, make sure you put the wires back as they were otherwise when you push the rocker to make the slide come in it will go out if you have them backwards.
