Portable Power Station Question

Hi,

I know you can hook up a power station like the EcoFlow Delta Max to your shore power connection using adapters, in my case it would be 20 amp to 50 amp and all the outlets would be live, but you would be limited on what you can run at once. My question concerns the 12v devices running on my RV battery. Lights, water pump, 12v fridge, etc.

Which of the 3 examples below will happen?

Do these devices try to deplete the energy from my RV battery first? Than when that gets low the converter "kicks on" and would draw from the Delta Max to replenish it?

Or does the RV battery not get used at all, just the Delta Max with the aid of the converter?

Or does the RV battery and the Delta Max operate in unison? Both getting used up simultaneously?

I assume the 110 outlets work as normal.

I think it is basically the same question whether I am using the Delta Max or AC for power, but I'm not sure what the answer is in either scenario.

Thanks.

Any portable generator will supply 110VAC to the power distribution panel. As long as the converter breaker is active, your converter will charge the rv battery(s) and supply 12VDC to the 12V devices in the coach.

So hypothetically, if I didn't use any 110 at all ( except to run the converter of course) both batteries would drain simultaneously running the 12v devices and run out of power at approximately the same time?

If your gen is running then the batteries will be charging. It will depend on how the batteries are wired to say if they will drain at the same rate.

There is no gen or solar. Just the power station plugged into shore power.

The power station will provide 110VAC to the trailer right?

If so it will power the converter to charge the batteries until it is deleted and no longer provides 110VAC to the trailer. At that point the trailer batteries will provide power to the 12V appliances in the trailer until they are depleted.

How many days/hours? Depends on a lot of things. What 12V stuff is on, how many Amp hours your batteries have, how they are wired to the trailer.

Yes, the power station will provide 110v to the trailer.

So I guess you answered my question.

The power station will run the converter to charge the RV batteries first, so basically not drawing the RV batteries down. When the power station runs out, the RV batteries take over until they run out. I know I am only discussing 12v right now and any 110v I would run would just deplete the power station sooner.

I guess that was my second scenario, but you explained it much better.

Thank you so much for your response, it has really helped me!
