Which vent fan is preferred?

Sitting here with the door and most of the windows open. I've got the bathroom and bedroom ceiling vents open as well, but still wishing for a breeze inside the camper.
So I'm considering installing a real fan in the bathroom and some questions come to mind:

1. which fan is the most popular? Maxxair or Fantastic Fan?
2. is there a third (or fourth) option that might be a better choice?
3. The bathroom vent is wired for the little fan, so things like auto open, thermostatically controlled and/or remote control should be on the table.
4. I've got vent covers installed so rain sensing probably won't be needed.
5. Did any Cougar Half-Tons come with a real fan installed from the factory? If so, what brand? Does it interface with the In Command?

Quiet operation, variable speeds and reversible are important qualities.

Thanks!

They only appear to have two models to choose from so their customer service department should be able to explain to me how to interface it with the In·Command.

We have the Heng’s Vortex 2 fan. It is a direct fit into the current vent without any modifications to the existing vent

I have the Hengs 3 speeds in each direction. It was much cheaper than most, easy to install, and fairly quiet. I am very happy with it.

Are all of these fans pretty much a direct fit for most campers? Would be nice to have that attic fan air flow in a camper.

I think they're all around the 14" x 14" size, but, measurement is always advised. Unless you order it from Amazon, then you just send it back

Standard vent opening is 14” X14”. I have 2 MaxAir vents, one in the bedroom and the other in the living area. Both are 10 speed reversible so I can circulate air either direction. The vent lids are shaped so you can use them in the rain without a vent cover.

I think the biggest differences you may find will be the amount of work involved with installation.

I know that installing the Vortex fan only involves touching the inner trim, but the others are a complete unit which means time on the roof to remove sealant, screws, scraping putty, pulling the old vent assembly and installing the new vent assembly, and resealing everything. Yes, the hole size is the same, but the work involved between the different models is a lot different.

I went with the Vortex because it met my needs, the price was right and I don’t need rain-sensing lids or remote control or any bells and whistles. Your needs/wants may be different, so research the models, go to the different websites, look at cost, read the installation manuals, watch videos and decide which one is best for you, because you are the one who has to live with the decision, not any of us.

The Heng's Vortex fan comes in two models. One is strictly a "one speed, out only fan" and the other is a "variable speed, reversing fan". Both are easier to install than a Maxx Aire or FanTastic brand, but are significantly more noisy than either. So, the "tradeoff" for using a Heng's is more noise and easier installation.

I have a "cheap, 3 speed FanTastic reversing fan" in my Cougar. I bought it for the Springdale, used it for a year and when the tree fell on the roof, I had the repair shop just leave it off when they installed the new roof, since we were trading the Springdale for the Cougar. I installed that fan (used) on the Cougar and it's been there 7 years and still working like it should. It's reliable, quiet, moves a lot of air and doesn't use a lot of battery power to do its job.

We initially bought a Heng's single speed, installed it and I took it back to CW after listening to it during one "trip to the head"... I wouldn't sit under it for anything, and I wear hearing aids.... No doubt, DW would never use the fan for its intended purpose, so it went back to CW and I bought the FanTastic. We've been pleased with that purchase.
