KeyTV

Does anyone know where to get a KeyTV Module? Emailed support told them I used a coax cable tester and all the cables show good. Till I hook up to the module then it shows a open which means the module has to be bad. But oh no can't send me one have to take it to the dealer. So they can figure it out. It's a bunch of B.S. Whats the DYI program for? Second problem I've tried to use the DYI but must be diagnose by the dealer first. SMDH!! I live full time and cannot take to a dealer and leave it for weeks.

If you can locate a dealer close that will do the work, you can schedule an appointment for diagnosis. Take it back “home” while the dealership does what they have to do, and when the new module arrives you can either swap it out if allowed or have the dealer do it as a “wait” customer. We have done that several times.

I don’t know of any outside source for that part as it is a Keystone exclusive.

Chuck is right. Locate a dealer that will agree to work on your unit if the selling dealer is not close. Let them diagnose that module and get a new one for you. Those modules were/are an idea that wasn't needed and only done to save the manufacturer money. They are very problematic.

Same problem. Next available appointment to diagnose the problem is in June. Agreed this device is solution in search of a problem. On-line forums are full of KeyTV problems. Seems that the box is made with very cheap electronics and those parts fail quite often, even in new units. Keystone needs to step up and start replacing these when they fail instead of pushing it off to a dealer that's already overloaded and backed up with supply chain/labor problems.

Warranty replacement requires a process. The dealership is the starting point.

Other than purchasing from a dealer you are out of luck.. the KeyTV mutliclurce controller has a BAD track record since DAY ONE..

You would do better by rewiring the coax and eliminating the entire unit.. the replacement will also likely fail

There has been an on going issue with SAT signal not passing thru the KeyTV box either because it drops the voltage being sent across the coax to the dish antenna if it’s a portable

Also incorporated in the KeyTV controller is the 12 volts DC source that is sent up to the roof OTA antenna via the coax.

So keep that in mind if you do bypass it you will need a 12 volt power source up to the roof OTA antenna preamp

Depending on what your time is worth and how far the dealer is you could do this.

But if that wasn’t the problem then it’s wasted money

Just fyi, when mine failed right away, the SM said there was a 65% failure rate of the original KeyTV module and about the same for the replacements.

Since the coax is color coded, it wouldn’t take much to use the existing coax, add a booster plate and run 12V to it. Only problem is going to be where to mount the park cable and sat IN

Mine worked for about 3 months with my portable dish, then it didn't I checked for loose connections didn't help. I just bypassed it, i still works for OTA Channels (inever hook up to CG Cable TV) if I don't feel like hooking up the dish on a overnight stay. I also ran a HDMI cable from where my dish receiver is to the Bedroom TV and have connected to a HDMI splitter, works fine except the bedroom has to watch the same channel which is no big deal.
