Ac filters

I have a 2012 Alpine 3650RL. The only place I see for the return air filters is in the living room ceiling. It would take 8 screws to get the grill off. Is thi correct or am I missing something?

Haven’t looked at the new ones recently, but that is typical location for the return air on the whisper systems. I thought the center grill was removable to get the filters out to wash them. I guess I am glad my old Alpine only has two screws to remove each one.

Welcome to the forum

From the few videos I watched it appears you have the "whisper quiet" A/C system. The returns are on the sides of the ceiling but Im thinking the grills should pop loose.

Ok, I guess I skipped over that when I read the post. In that case it’s the same as what I have in mine and yes 8 screws. Be careful not to over tighten the screws. There’s nothing behind them and they strip easily.

And if you look at the timestamps you'll see we posted at the same time.
