Sleeting

Went and grabbed the water hose to de-winterize the 5’er for our first camping trip next weekend. Cloudy 50 degree winds out of the north day. When I came out the shop door I thought well crap it’s raining. Well I was wrong, it was sleeting. Did it for about 20 minutes. Ran the water through everything and didn’t see any leaks. Maybe someone was trying to tell me it was to early to be doing this, lol. Looking forward to it though. West TN not giving up winter easy.

We dewinterized ours last weekend it was warm and beautiful out. A week later it’s averaging 20 degrees at night. I’ve been sleeping in it with propane heat on at night to keep me and the pipes warm.

Same here (except we didn't dewinterize)... Three days ago it was 55F, last night it was 4F and today, so far, we've got about 1/4" of ice, it's sleeting/raining with 2-4" of snow predicted for tonight....

Our Cougar is still in the pole barn, going to stay there until it's warm enough to park it on the concrete drive, jack it up and change out the axles/springs. I'd guess we won't even extend the slides to get to the water pump or dewinterize until after all that is finished.

CRAZY weather, but looking back, it happens every year, just when we "have had enough winter and are eager for warm temps and spring.....

Around here March is the transition month and not unusual to extend deep into April. It's a good example of "average temps". A couple of days in the 70's followed by a couple of days in the 30's. A couple of weeks ago when I had the brakes inspected, new seals and new tires mounted I had "the itch" to de-winterize and start stocking the trailer.

Thankfully my recall is still intact sufficiantly to make me reconsider.

We de-winterized about 4 weeks ago. And in order to keep the pipes from freezing, we've run through 4, 30 pound tanks of propane during that time, along with 3 sources of electric heat inside the camper. But .... it's worth every penny. Winter camping is so interesting, for sure!

75 with storms and tornadoes in the area today. Weekend calling for clear skies with temps in the 60’s during day and 40’s at night. We pulling out tomorrow afternoon hopefully.
