Springdale Mini- Water Pump access

Does anyone know how to get access to the water pump in a '21 Springdale 1740 (mini)? It is in a box under the fold-down sofa / bed. But I can't find a way to lift the sofa off. Surely one does not have to completely remove the sofa!

Sure it's under there? Ours - 220 RD, not same but similar - is in the front pass through, forward left (driver) side. Just inside the door to the right behind a little false wall. Before I modified the location, it sounded for all the world like it was under the floor below the bath vanity.

under sofa

Quite different. The new 1740rk has the Murphy bed at the front. Comes down after you fold the sofa back down. You can see the pump box/cover and hear it and feel it under there. I looked in the front pass through and there are no panels for access.

If the panel has carpet, then you might get lucky using a magnet to locate the screws. They will be squarehead #2.

There's a similar thread in a different section of the forum. Possibly taking a look at the solutions in that thread will help answer some of the questions here ??? Take a look and see if it helps: https://www.keystoneforums.com/forum...ad.php?t=49277

That IS different. Now especially glad we passed on the Murphy bed setup. Good luck, share your eventual solution.

The "eventual solution" IMO, is to bite the bullet and install an access port on the rear wall of the passthrough. Remove the hatch, access the water pump and when finished, reinstall the hatch..... This one is for my water heater, but could easily be used to access the water pump.

They're available in various sizes from 6" diameter round to 10x16 rectangular and even larger. Sure beats having to unbolt and move a major piece of furniture....

Thats a great idea. Could just remove a sizable rectangle and apply trim to make a good sized access panel.

There are 4 screws holding sofa down on the 1740RK
, 2 on each side. They are the Phillips head ones going through the metal bracket. Remove them and pull up and remove sofa. Complete easy access after that.
