Theater seating foot rest
I’m sure this is a stupid question ..but.. the theater seats/ recliners have a plastic cover on the foot rests that says “Thomas Payne collection”... is it supposed to stay on ? It looks like it’s attached at the seam and I would rip out the threads if try and take it off... do you just cut it as close as you can or is it supposed to remain?

"Do not remove this tag." We still remove the tags, don't we? It's your camper, do as you please. If it annoys you, remove it. I'd cut it though. Pulling the seams might not be good for the chair. Who knows what those seams are holding together.

I thought about that as well. Finally decided leaving them on was less likely to result in an annoying eyesore than the result of any attempt I might make to take them off.

I would leave it as a cover.

I leave them as a cover. That material will eventually deteriorate and the cover should help or stop that deterioration.

To me, it's sort of like leaving the window sticker on a new car... Sure, for a day or so, it's neat, everyone knows you just bought it (or are test driving it).. Then you get tired of having to lean so far forward to check for cars at a stop sign or you can't see to make a right turn and almost run over a kid in the crosswalk and suddenly realize, "This damn thing is in my way"...
The "Thomas Payne advertisement on the foot rest", the "do not remove under penalty of law" tag on the mattress, the "this cup may be hot" on McD's coffee cup...
Good thing about it is you can leave it on as long as you like or take it off "rat now" if that's what works....
As for how to remove it, a pair of cuticle scissors and a careful cut worked for mine even though I'd have probably been more comfortable with a scalpel and tissue forceps.

I’m glad someone else asked this question as I stare at mine wondering what to do. Who the heck stitched these into the material

I'm not willing to risk the damage to the stitching nor put the work into doing the job.

There is actually a video on how to remove them on the Lippert website.

I've gotta say, that's about the most rediculous thing I've seen from a major manufacturer in a long time. i can just imagine the PI attorneys salivating at that video.
