Dish Remote and Pause Button?

I have a King Satellite system and I use Dish Network for my RV. I need help with the Dish 54.0 remote, when I hit pause nothing happens. The Satellite is a King Tailgater Pro with a Wally receiver.

Have a two similar setups with the same issue in two different RV's, one with Wineguard Travl'r Ant with old version of Wally and 2nd RV w dish 1000.1 antenna and "new" speech recognition Wally.

Neither setup works with my Hopper recorded video functions of "freeze", "backup" or "fast forward".

Two comments:
1. Wonder if adding thumb drive or SSD disk to Wally would allow streaming from Hopper?
2. Whole new system, forget Dish TV (and Direct TV) and instead install a small profile PC (which could also be used for traditional PC functions) with satellite internet (Hughsnet, etc.) and stream free programing directly from providers (foxnation.com, ABCnews.com, HuLu.com, netflix.com,brightbart.com etc.).

A Wally receiver doesn't have a DVR function which allows pause, rewind, etc. Buy a DVR upgrade which MUST be compatible with the Wally. Once you get the DVR, you have to call Dish to activate the capability and pay a one time $40 charge.

If you are a fan of the voice remote, the Wally has to be set up on a local WiFi network and you MUST use a compatible WiFi adapter. Almost none of the regular WiFi adapters will work as Dish sells one that will:

Thanks for the info. So I assume that Wally/Hopper does not have the capability to control the streaming of Hopper w DVR ?
I can do these functions w /SlingBox on WEB.

It seems like a PC with Satellite WEB streaming is the most versatile and economical technology because it is not limited by provider (Dish or Direct TV) programing. Also the relationship between "live TV" and "prerecorded TV" becomes a moot issue, everything is delayed.

Economically speaking, the satellite provider offers ISP, E-Mail, phone and other services (shopping, FTP, telnet, msg etc) as an invisible bundled charge that more than offsets the increased mthly fees vs a content provider + ISP + E Mail + ......)

One more thing........

On one of my RVs I have a hi gain parabolic antenna with a USB WiFi "thumbdrive" that scabs WiFi from any public provider. By using my PC with lots of memory, I can stream TV from my Sling Box, Roku or Apple TV or the WEB originator at program provider + ISP cost or NO cost if I want to wait to record the programming.

Getting the antenna pointed is time consuming so I also installed an omni-directional whip which works if the signal strength is adequate.

Wally, Joey and Hopper

Thanks for the references. I don't understand the functional capabilities of each "box" but I have a simplistic idea that Wally should functionality resemble Joey, e.i. Joey accesses/controls the DVR on Hopper, why can't a WEB connected Wally?
