The IR thermometer is also good to check air temp coming out of the air conditioner Vents. Helps identifying potential issues.

How is your weight distributed on the wheels?

Danny, it is towing level, and the MORryde 3000 suspension active element also appears level. When I do a brake check when getting underway, all four will lock up. These temperatures aren't high, I'm just curious as to why the differential and the fact that they are the same on both sides.

I did a quick search on Google and have decided no one really knows for sure, but everyone agrees there is differential effectiveness of the brakes for the front and rear axle. Your data would help support those who say the rear axle brakes are the more important/used ones. I’ll pay closer attention next time to which axle is warmer on my rig, as I seem to recall a slight but noticeable difference.

Call Performance Trailer Braking in Norman Oklahoma. They will actually come to your house and throw those old drum brakes away for you.
They will also install new disc brakes and new Timken bearings. Your troubles will be over.

if you have a IR gun it is worth using, but if you don't the back of your hand works great also. I stop at regular intervals and do a walk around and just put my hand against the tires and the back of my hand against the hub to make sure everything is running cool. I do have a ir gun and used that for a while but it only comes out now if my hand feels something is not normal and I want to monitor it.

My TPMS shows all 4 wheels the same temp, except when the sun is shining on one side of the trailer or the other. I was surprised at the accuracy.
We did have one wheel showing a higher temp while traveling and discovered that the brake wasn't fully releasing. It was partially engaged for some reason. Pulled the wheel and cleaned everything with brake cleaner and reassembled. No problems since.
Id suggest checking the brake adjustment between the front and rears. It doesn't take much to cause a few degrees of difference.
