Speakers by Fireplace

We have a 2017 Alpine 3401 RS. I am thinking of adding upgraded speakers to our sound system in the living room, but there is not much room for them.* Has anyone cut holes in the fake rock surrounding the fireplace and mounting them there.* If so, is the fake rock difficult to cut?

There's obviously no room below the tv, but is there any room above to raise the tv & add a sound bar? They have great sound quality & might be easier than cutting the fake rock.
If yours is like mine the sub woofer was behind the fireplace, didn't do much good there.

No room above either as there is a cabinet only an inch above the TV.

I’d have to look hard at some of the wireless systems. The sub woofer is unidirectional so it doesn’t much matter where it’s placed as long as it’s down low.

I looked briefly at some wireless speakers and wasn't very impressed. Plus, you have to get power to each speaker. Do you know of any that you would recommend? We had an Everest before the Alpine that was prewired for home theater so replacing the system was quite easy as the wires were already run. The Alpine, in Keystone's cheapness, does not.

It looks like you have about 1.5" below the TV now, if you raise the TV the 1" to the top of the cabinet, that would give you about 2.5" below the TV. It sits far enough from the rear of the TV space that you could fit a sound bar below and behind the TV. Might that improve your TV sound enough without modifying the "fake rock front" to the fireplace?

Our Alpine came with Bose surround sound and its adequate for the fifth wheel. It doesn’t compare to our house surround system but we don’t live full time in the RV. Good luck with your endeavors.
