Cable carriers on slide outs

So, I was working on the main slide out on our Montana and while I was under it, I was looking at the broken plastic cable carrier. I thought the carrier had broken at its flex point where it attaches to the slide out, but when I put it up to where it had broken from its attachment point, it appeared that the slide out was extending past the limit of the carrier. With the slide out extended, the carrier does not have enough length to extend all the way to the extended slide out edge where it attached. Maybe the factory didn’t attach the bracket in the correct location? Or maybe the slide out is going out too far past the limits of the carrier? I should be able to reattach it with a gate hinge an inch or so further over from where it was originally attached and give it enough slack to allow it to travel to the extended position of the slide out.
