I was going to say, you couldn't have been able to pull out the 'old standard' steps, when I realized, it's not about getting the stairs out, it's just the interior storage stairs are in the way! DUH....

Saying that, with our current fifthwheel, the only place we can go with slides in, is to the bathroom - they go right to the kitchen island, and the main door to the bedroom is blocked by that slide.

I do like the undercover storage area though!

We have the MorRyde Step Above 3-step version and love the stability. Our dog likes them better too - no more holes in the steps for his paws/claws to get stuck in as he's coming in and out. (Our steps had holes, and the metal around the holes poked UP, so even in our bare feet, the steps hurt our feet. Always seemed like strange design to me. Carpet on them helped, but not much. ) I was worried about dirt and mud getting in, but I sweep before we close up and sweep/clean again when we set up because we are always trampling in dirt no matter what, so that hasn't been an issue. I never thought of, but can see the point of, when traveling, it would be hard to get in if you're in a tight spot - they do come out a bit more than our fold out steps.

I just put the Lippert Solid Steps on my new Hideout 187RB. The are built very solidly and were a breeze to install. Keeping in mind that the threshold area needs most consideration so the doors will close with the steps down. Once installed the only gripe I have is that the MoRyde steps have a ratcheting foot at the bottom of the stairs allowing much more accurate setting of the foot height. The Lippert requires a pin to be pulled and inserted into the hole that best fits the terrain and does not have as many stops for adjustability. Have not used them at a site yet but does not seem as much variability and adaptability as the ratcheting set up. Reality will tell me if it is as cumbersome as I am thinking. Hopefully not.
The top step being large was my reason for choosing Lippert.

Do yourself a favor: take one of the linch pins out of the legs, go to the Hillman drawers at your HW store, and buy two that match but have rings on the ends, and replace the factory pins. You will save much black and blue and broken nails setting up.

I know this is an ancient thread, but I removed my OEM triple fold out steps and installed the MorRyde steps. I like the push-button ease of leg adjustment over the Lippert style.
