The CO/LP detector is normally wired directly to the battery, with no battery you have no operational detector.

Yes, your smoke detectors are on the ceiling in the bedroom & living room powered by 9 volt batteries, if they alarm you have a fire with smoke, you or DW have burnt dinner, or a dead 9 volt battery..
The CO/LP detector is mounted low close to the floor in/near the kitchen, it's wired directly to the 12 volt batteries on the rv, if it chirps you either have propane or carbon monoxide present, you've used aerosol sprays nearby, Fido has cut the cheese while laying nearby, the detector is out of date (typically 5 years from the date on the back) or a faulty detector, or the rv batteries are low. It doesn't come apart & has no replaceable parts, if bad replace it.

Sorry, I realized after typing that the propane/CO detector was of issue (not the smoke detectors) and so I tried to delete my comment.
