Seems like a pretty good deal. Anybody have one of these?

I have a HF generator that size that our daughter's ex bought and she gave it to me. It was brand new still in the box. It lives under our deck and replaced the 3,500 watt unit for emergency power (properly wired into a transfer switch).

IIRC it's 230 lbs as well. That's why it's under the deck. Even with wheels in back it's a BEAST to lift the handle to manuver around. Lift it into the bed of the truck? Maybe in my youth, certianly not now.. JMHO

Firman says it weights 213! Firman wants $1499 for this generator.

I purchased a Wen Inverter generator direct from their site (free ship also).
$685 6250W

Wish really I had kept my Generac 15000 but a motherboard went bad a few years ago and it was an "obsolete" part that took the dealer 3 months to find. It had a 30 hp engine and we used it to run the entire house when hurricanes knocked the power out when we lived in Florida. I guess you should keep one for a few years and just sell it and replace it with a new one so you don't run into this problem.

My Wen generator weighs 119.5 lbs. While not a lightweight, I could lift it into my truck bed. I don't camp with a generator as we camp at campgrounds with all utilities. I use mine at home in the event power goes out and mine was wired professionally into a transfer switch.

Basically, any Gen over 4500 watts is a waste unless it has a 50A plug. The ones with 30A plugs still only power 30A rv or half of a 50A that has been dog boned down to a 30A plug. It’s a great price for the Gen, but I think I’d rather pay the extra $200 that my 4500’Wesginghouse cost me and have a 110 lb Gen than deal with a 215 lb unit.

Certainly looks like a decent price for a home generator, but way too big (and loud) for camping. Love my Generac GP3000i for boondocking.

Does the Wen 6250W have a 50amp outlet?

According to the specs it has two 30A receptacles. One is RV ready, the other is twist lock. I wonder if it would work if a person ran a cord from each into a parallel kit. I think it would be a little under powered for that if it did work, just pondering it. It’s actually pretty light for the size, but it’s a bit loud at 74 dB

I couldn’t see that small of print on my phone, but looked up the Firman 7500w gen and it does show a 4 pin 50A receptacle. Specs say 31A to each pin on the 120v outlet. Still has 72db, which is pretty loud, and 215 lbs which is pretty heavy, but could work to power a 50A coach.

generator on sale at costco

my costco, in huntsville AL, also has an inverter gen on sale. It is small light and can be put in series with a second gen. I measured it and it would fit in my front storage. Not as powerful but two together would be more than the single big one.

We have that generator. We use it for emergency power for our house. It’s heavy. Unless you have a way to get it in and out of your vehicle and a dry place to put it, because It’s not meant to be out in the weather, it’s probably not going to work.

Ditto- I no longer have the back for that! Added soft start devices to my 2 units so I could use a much lighter WEN 4K watter for boondocking- and I'm just peachy! We tend to boondock only in the high country or in the late fall thru early spring (AZ) anyway where a/c is rarely necessary.

Seems a pretty decent price though...

I have the dual fuel version of that exact generator - from Costco last summer. I believe the new version is tri-fuel. It is very heavy. I had to use my aluminum ladder as a sort of ramp to get the generator loaded into the storage compartment area by myself. It is a beast - and it is very loud. I ran mine on propane last summer during a heat wave in Washington. It ran well - no issues - output was good - ran both ACs on it. While it is less expensive than invertor generators, I would not suggest it unless you are stationary and don't have to worry about how loud it is - and you don't have to load/unload it. If you need something more portable, stick with inverter generators with a sync cable to allow a 50a output connection. I have two Champion 3500 invertor generators with a sync / parallel cable and they are much easier to manage - though not quite as powerful as the one you are considering.

I think the boys from Bandera Paving must have just gotten back from Costco with their new generator. They are working on the neighbors drive and needed a generator so they put it on the back of their Class A and brought it on down...

I bought the Firman 3300 inverter which I use for my passport trailer it powered the air conditioner just barely but then I bought a soft start for the air conditioner and it easily powers that now.A quiet, great little inverter about 100 pounds

Looks like an open frame generator.

Open frame generators, even if it’s a pure sine wave are only good at construction sites.
Open Frame Generators will make quick enemies of your nearby campers.
Too noisy.
